The very first of a series of exhibitions themed in blue, featuring works from ceramic artists Simone Haak, Li Zhen and ZhenXi - a brand name for the works created jointly by the two artists.
Simone Haak
Simone Haak, living in Delft, the Netherlands, is a nature-loving person and a playfully creative mind. She draws inspiration from her experience in nature and every-day life, giving her works a refreshing and delightful touch.
Li Zhen
Li Zhen, living in Jingdezhen, China, blends his thoughts and attitude towards life into his creations. Characterised by a gentle, warm but nevertheless lively feeling, Li Zhen's work reflects his inner image of happiness for life.
ZhenXi
After years of cooperation in Jingdezhen and in Delft, Li Zhen and Simone started a brand "ZhenXi" to encapsulate collaborated ceramic artworks. Composed of characters from the Chinese names of the artists, it means "to cherish" and "to treasure" in Chinese. The character of ZhenXi works is a balanced fusion of the techniques and aesthetic philosophies from Simone and Li Zhen.
