Color explosions in porcelain!
This exhibition shows a new series of elegant objects in a wide color variation. Each piece is unique and delicate and the result of great skill in the applied technique.
Judith de Vries (1957) has specialized in the Nerikomi technique and applies it in porcelain. In the Nerikomi technique, the artist uses the slices/blocks of colored clay to compose shapes. Her vase and bowl shapes are finely sanded smooth on the outside and glazed on the inside, the glaze accentuates the color pattern..
De Vries reveals color and shows in attractive nuances the possibilities that the refined material porcelain offers.
