The Dream Gardens of Márta Nagy
Poetic, original, personal and with a striking use of materials: those are the catchwords that Simone Haak of Galerie Terra uses to describe the work of the Hungarian ceramist Márta Nagy. Since the tenth anniversary of the gallery fourteen years ago, Nagy’s work has regularly been part of the gallery’s program, with her own solo exhibition every two or three years. The next of these will be in Terra Delft Gallery from September 4 till October 16, 2010 (see attachement).
This fall it will be possible to speculate on how ‘Hungarian’ the work of this artist with the ‘Dutch’ character really is. Simultaneously with her solo exhibition in Terra Delft Gallery, there will be a group exhibition called Márta’s Choice in the Prinsenhof Museum in Delft, featuring work from ten Hungarian ceramists including Nagy’s own instructor Imre Schrammel.
And with these exhibitions in Delft, a Dutch exhibtion called Terra in Pecs will be shown in the Janos Pannonius Museum in Pecs, Hungary. This exhibition, selected by Terra Delft Gallery, is from August 28 to October 10, 2010.
