As European contemporary ceramics features a wide variety of products, the work in this sector of the visual arts is growing more and more interesting. And that is now also noted in Beijing – China.
On 14 September, a delegation from Europe will go to Sanbao-Jingdezhen for a two weeks an artist-in-residence program to follow. Then they travel to Beijing to attend the opening of the exhibition. The group guided by Simone Haak (Terra Delft Gallery) and Jackson Li (Int Sanbao Ceramic Art Museum Institute) consists of Anne-Soline Barbaux (F), Wim Borst (NL), Guy van Leemput (B), Saskia Pfaeltzer (NL), Barbara Röling (NL) and Judith de Vries (NL).
The Tree Art Museum is located in Song Zhuang, Beijing. Construction of the 3200 m2 building started in November 2010 and it opened its doors in September 2012. As an arts colony, Song Zhuang is widely-known for range of progressive art venues, which can be visited only by appointment. This new addition to the “artists’ village” is owned by the Chinese Contemporary Art Development Foundation and designed by Daipu, a young architect in China who leads a comparatively small design team.
